It’s a fairy tale ending for Hansel and Gretel, two kittens who were rescued separately from harsh beginnings but found their “furever” family together.
Hansel arrived at the rescue in rough shape, the sole survivor of his litter, with his right whiskers entirely cut off. Traumatized and scared, he spent his first nights crying for comfort. Even after adjusting to his foster mom, Hansel would get sad when she left the room. His foster mom knew he needed a special friend and, after an initial failed pairing, found his perfect match in Gretel.
Gretel’s easygoing and playful personality was the perfect counterbalance to Hansel’s cautious nature. Paired together, the two quickly formed an unbreakable bond. Now inseparable in their new forever home, this dynamic duo is a heartwarming reminder that even the most difficult beginnings can lead to a lifetime of love and companionship.
This result couldn’t have happened without the help of many different volunteers (rescue trappers & foster parents) to facilitate the successful pairing of different solo kittens. Please consider foster volunteering if you have time. It’s rewarding beyond measure, both for the kittens, volunteers and the kitten’s forever family.
