Dulcimer (Dulcie) is a beautiful fluffy medium-haired tabby cat with dainty gloves. She is around 1-2 years old.
Dulcie has had a hard life. We don’t know much of her history, except that she has had kittens, she’s been abandoned at least once, and she was scared of hands and people being too close when she first came to TKR. It’s taken a little while, but she’s learning how to trust again. Dulcie is affectionate, with lots of headbutts to your legs. She has a big purr that turns on when she’s feeling comfortable and when she wants head scratches and pets. She’s looking for a special human who can patiently continue building her trust. And she’ll reward you with so much love.
Dulcie really likes to be around her people, but not on top of them. She might be a lap cap eventually, but for now she prefers to sit and sleep alone, nearby you. She will come up and solicit pets and neck scratches; she’s just a little careful about them. She needs you to be slow & patient with her, as she is wary of what’s happened before.
She is a playful cat, and while she’s been in foster she has come to enjoy playing with ribbon and wand toys, instead of running away from them. She loves the attention! She especially likes to play hide and pounce as the ribbon disappears around a corner or under a door. She also likes playing alone, chasing plastic springs and mouse toys.
Dulcie has come a long way, and she is more trusting all the time. She is very laid back, enjoys company, and she likes to be around her people. She’s looking for a quiet home and a hero to share her love with. Someone who understands that trust takes time and attention. Could that be you?

All our cats and kittens are spayed or neutered, tested for FeLV/FIV, FVRCP vaccinated, dewormed, and microchipped.
All of our kittens must go to homes where they will remain inside 24/7.
