Mandarin (bonded with Kumquat)

Mandarin is a handsome cream and beige kitten who is looking for a home. He is frisky, playful, and affectionate. Offer him a spot on your lap, rub his belly, and he’ll purr up a storm. Dig out the wand toy, and he’s ready to play. Mandarin likes to play with his brother Kumquat and loves toys that he can bat around.

Mandarin tested faintly positive for FIV (Feline immunodeficiency virus). This does not mean that he has FIV: The test measures antibodies, not presence of the virus. It indicates only that he has been exposed—he most likely inherited these antibodies from his mother, which is common in young kittens. Mandarin’s most recent test showed even a fainter reaction, and we believe that it will revert to negative within a few months.

TKR will cover any testing or care related to this virus until Mandarin tests negative. The test should be repeated when he is six months of age.  Even if he continues to carry the antibodies, kittens with asymptomatic FIV can live long and healthy lives.

Our kittens are spayed or neutered, tested for FeLV/FIV, FVRCP vaccinated, dewormed, and microchipped.

All of our kittens must go to homes where they will remain inside 24/7.

Young kittens must go home in pairs, or to a home with another cat. Infrequently we will make exceptions.
